We got married here last summer and can't recommend it highly enough! The stables are such a charming place to celebrate, and the surrounding gardens are wonderful rain or shine. We had some excellent photos taken in the garden, which is a beautiful backdrop. They offered the choice to get married in the garden - where there is an ideal avenue of trees - but we opted to use the local church at Dalmahoy instead.
In terms of facilities, the Stables' long hall had ample room for our approximately 100 guests, with nice loos, a professional kitchen space for caterers, and parking provided. In the evening there was room for reeling and then a disco. The Stables owners were very helpful in facilitating an excellent day, providing helpful advice on trusted local contractors, e.g. florists and caterers; answering our many questions; and giving different options for decorating and extending the space. We added a large marquee in the courtyard, where we had the bar and overspill. Very accessible from Edinburgh, either by taxi or train.

One of the biggest strengths of the venue is its flexibility. We were able to bring in whichever vendors we wanted, and Robert was very accommodating with supplier drop-offs, pick-ups, and with us coming and going as we needed. He also gave us plenty of time either side of the wedding for set-up and tear-down, which took a lot of pressure off.
The venue itself is beautiful, with a really lovely atmosphere and stunning backdrops for photographs. We also really appreciated Robert’s helpful advice on recommended vendors. Overall, he was accommodating in every way, and the venue worked perfectly for us. We were absolutely delighted with everything and had a fantastic wedding day.
